After spending a while focusing on other rivers and people’s experiences of them, I felt the need to spend time with my own local river again, the River Avon as it asses out of the Vale of Pewsey and starts heading down towards Salisbury.
I decided to focus my walk on the other animals that I’d see or find evidence of there, the river of non-human life that flows with the water. And I wanted to exolore how I sense their presence through my body. As I walk I hear, see and smell them, and my walking body carries me past the signs they have left behind.
